The Advocate Trauma Recovery Center (TRC) is a healthcare-based Violence Intervention program that provides short-term services to survivors of intentional crime.

TRC services include:
• Individual Therapy
• Support Group
• Group Therapy
• Social Services and Intensive Case Management
• Medication Management

Eligibility Criteria:
• Cook, Kankakee, Kendall, Kane, DuPage, Will, Lake and McHenry County Resident
• Age 4 and older
• Victim/Survivor of an intentional crime (brief list below) within the past three years or homicide of an immediate family member (no time limit)
• Guns Shot
• Stabbing
• Physical Assault
• Sexual Assault
• Robbery/Burglary
• Domestic Violence
• Hit and Run Accident
• Elder Abuse
• Hate Crime
• Stalking and Harassment
• Human Trafficking

Lord and Angell House seeks to provide safe emergency shelter and transitional housing, as well as support services for women and their children to heal and recover from the trauma of domestic violence in the Chicagoland area.

Safe Families for Children helps parents in crisis get back on their feet and keep their families intact. They  provide temporary hosting and work with parents to help achieve family preservation. They also have volunteer “Family Friends” that will walk alongside parents in crisis.

Provides affordable housing, counseling, and supportive services for survivors of domestic violence and/or human trafficking and their children. Eligibility: Must be low income and victim of domestic violence and/or human trafficking.

Refuge for Women is a non-proit, faith based organization providing specialized long-term care for women who have escaped human trafficking or sexual exploitation. With multiple locations across the U.S., Refuge for Women offers up to twelve months of safe housing, at no charge to the resident, with around the clock care as clients progress through evidence-based, trauma-informed programming. The compassionate staff is trained to help residents work through the program to reclaim their identities and reach their goals to overcome addictions, heal from trauma and develop life skills leading to healthy, balanced living and financial independence. Refuge for Women strives to help each woman complete the program with a vision for her future, equipped to succeed and sustain a life marked with dignity and hope.

Home of the Sparrow serves single women, pregnant women and women with children. Approximately 93 percent of the women served have experienced domestic violence at some point on their journey. Other reasons for homelessness include unforeseen housing or financial crisis, a death in the family, or a medical emergency. The weak economy and rising cost of living contribute to unstable housing situations.
